ADVERTISING SALES EXECUTIVE

Base, Uncapped Commission & Benefits

Lester Communications Inc. is a media leader in the contract publishing industry providing unparalleled publishing services for professional and trade associations across North America.

Overview: The Advertising Sales Executive generates advertising revenue in both print and digital media by targeting and qualifying prospects, establishing and building client relationships by phone with key advertising decision-makers, preparing email presentations and quotes, and negotiating rates with the ultimate goal of closing advertising insertion orders on an on-going frequent basis. Ideally, the individual best suited for this position will bring a knowledgeable background in the art of selling and closing techniques, superior communication skills, a can-do enthusiastic demeanor and a drive and hunger to earn six figures annually.

Essential Duties include:

  1. Generating new leads by making cold calls, calling on inactive accounts, and maintaining an awareness of new businesses opening in the industry
  2. Understanding the clients’ advertising needs, and develop the ideal marketing solution for them
  3. Delivering customized sales presentations by phone/email
  4. Attending daily sales kickoff meetings as required
  5. Be a driving force in the success of the company’s goals by achieving your individual sales targets

What you will receive in order to ensure your success:

  1. Training and coaching to maximize your earning potential
  2. Base line of previous advertising accounts to build upon
  3. Individual targets to guide you in reaching your income goals

Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years sales experience in a b2b environment
  2. Effective time management skills in a deadline driven environment
  3. Bilingual (English/French) a definite asset, though not required
  4. Self-motivated with a passion to educate & sell

Freelance Writers

Add your byline to established and emerging North American trade publications in a wide variety of industries! Lester Communications Inc. and Lester Publications, LLC are currently seeking qualified, experienced freelance writers to add to our editorial team.

Lester publishes B2B magazines for professional associations, and offers our partners assistance with content production. The editorial team frequently relies on freelance writers to accept assignments, find or contact confirmed sources, write articles, obtain photos and article approval and submit for publishing. We are looking to expand our freelance pool.

Qualified applicants will:

  • Have two to three years of experience working as a freelance writer for trade publications, newspapers or consumer publications
  • Have a firm grasp of Canadian Press and Associated Press styles of writing
  • Possess strong self-editing skills
  • Be diligent about meeting deadlines
  • Have solid research experience and capabilities
  • Be resourceful in finding appropriate sources for stories, with assistance and guidance from the assigning editor
  • Be willing to embrace different industries and learn more about Lester’s publications
  • Be willing to take on and work through challenges while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Have experience writing about heavy construction (not required, but an asset)
